The Ohio Valley Tennis Association is excited to share the Middle School Tennis Team Initiative, created to support new or non–school sponsored middle school teams within the USTA Ohio Valley District.
SATA is now on Facebook! We launched a new, dedicated Springfield Area Tennis Association group on Facebook. You do not need to be a member of SATA to request an invitation to join.
The Ohio Valley Tennis Association has an exclusive offer for a Columbus Blue Jackets game.
The free tennis clinics provided by SATA at the newly renovated Synder Park Tennis Courts are a huge success. Volunteers introduced students to forehands, backhands and serves. Everyone also enjoyed pizza, drinks and treats. A good time was had by all!
The Urbana (MYTT) program, which serves as a fundraiser for Urbana Boys High School team was very successful. Each registrant received an age appropriate tennis racquet, T-shirt, player gift and three (3) hours of instruction. We ordered volunteer T-shirts for the program and the Ohio Valley Tennis Association decided to pick up the cost. SATA made a donation to the Urbana Boys High School team.
SATA collabrated with the National Trail Park and Recreation Department (NTPRD) to provide several (MYTT) programs at Synder Park during the summer. Registrants received a racquet, T-shirt, balls and four (4) hours of instruction/play for their registration fee. This collaborative effort also included several weeks of tennis instruction at Synder Park for youth and adults in our community. SATA members and families were able to take advantage of discounted tennis lessons from the NTPRD.
SATA provided an instructor and many volunteers and high school student volunteers to provide two weeks of tennis instruction during Ridgewood's Summer Enrichment programs.
SATA provided volunteers and instructors for a (MYTT) program held in Yellow Springs, OH. Each of the registrants received a raquet, T-shirt, balls and four (4) hours of instructions. SATA made a donation towards for tennis court maintenance. After the program ended, volunteer Greg Clements (his face shown below for "target practice"), went twice a week to provide instruction for anyone who showed up - thanks Greg!
